TPAA Case Win #1374 - TPAA Defends Educators Facing Unjust Misconduct Allegations

TPAA-Apr-28-2023-03-54-15-6385-AM

From Accusation to Acquittal

Teachers are held to high standards of ethical conduct in their work, and even the most diligent and dedicated professionals can face allegations of misconduct. Recently, a member of TPAA sought our assistance after receiving an unjust and unfounded allegation of misconduct (unrelated to child protection).

This member was taken into a spontaneous meeting with their principal and told that they would be referred to the Ethics Committee for investigation. Unfortunately, the member was denied their support person during this meeting, which was understandably overwhelming and intimidating.

Our member reached out to TPAA for help, and we immediately assigned a case manager to their case. Our experienced case manager worked closely with the member to gather all the necessary information and evidence related to the allegation. We also ensured that the member was provided with a support person for all future meetings and discussions related to the investigation.

With our help, we were able to clarify the facts of what the member knew in the incident. We found that there was no basis for the allegation and that the member had acted appropriately and ethically in their teaching. As a result, the investigation against the member was closed, and their reputation was restored.

At TPAA we understand that facing an allegation of misconduct can be a daunting experience for any educator. We are here to help and support our members throughout the process. Our team of experienced case managers and legal professionals are committed to providing the highest level of support and advocacy to our members.

How is the TPAA so effective in defending members during workplace issues and disputes? Our experienced and professional case managers use our unique REDTM case resolution system.

Why is the TPAA different? We believe that real change in education STARTS with empowering frontline teachers, not bureaucrats.
