Victorian Government Schools Agreement 2022
Bargaining continues for the Victorian Government Schools Agreement, with multiple meetings now held and a wide range of claims formally progressed. The TPAA has put forward our position, focused on meaningful wage growth, stronger job security, reduced face-to-face teaching loads, and clearer protections around planning and preparation time.
At this stage, several core claims remain unresolved. The Government has not agreed to the proposed wage increases, and a number of items are either still under review or have been pushed back. Key areas still requiring consideration include: workload provisions, professional practice time, allowances, and broader improvements to working conditions.
There is more work to be done before an agreement is reached. Bargaining is continuing, with member priorities remaining central to the TPAA’s position.
Catholic Employers Single Enterprise Collective Agreement – Diocesan Schools of Queensland 2023-2026
Representation secured: bargaining to commence TPAA has now been formally appointed as a bargaining representative for the Queensland Catholic Diocesan Schools agreement.
Our Log of Claims has been submitted, capturing key member priorities including wage increases, cost-of-living protections, workload reduction, and improved leave and working conditions.
Central to this claim is an upfront wage adjustment to address the growing gap between salaries and CPI, followed by ongoing increases tied to cost-of-living movements. We are also pushing for stronger protections around hours of duty and non-contact time. Formal bargaining meetings have not yet begun, but are expected shortly.
Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2026 (VIC)
Progressing, but no claims agreed yet. Bargaining has commenced for the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement, with six meetings held so far between the parties. At this stage, no claims have been agreed.
TPAA has proposed our log of claims aimed at lifting wages, protecting conditions, and addressing ongoing workload pressures. This includes an 18% wage increase over the life of the agreement, stronger safeguards for planning and preparation time, and improved entitlements such as time-in-lieu and wellbeing provisions.
Despite ongoing discussions, there remains a clear gap between what members are asking for and the current position of the employer. Further negotiations are required to close that gap and move towards an agreement that properly reflects the demands of the profession.
Enterprise bargaining is where real change happens for teachers. Better pay, safer workloads, and stronger protections don’t appear on their own. They come from teachers standing together and making their voices heard.
